Not very long ago, a friend criticized me for rojaking my bahasas. She was really piqued with my in(ter)vention of words. Including the kusyuh-kusyuh term that I thought of just for the fun of it. She even advised me to start using either full Bahasa or full English. But no cacamarba. Lo sentite?
I thought…huh? So I wrote back, politely asking her if my being comfortably bilingual had in any way, shape or form affected her salary. Or should I, from this point on, write two versions of emails to my contacts just so I could please some monolingual maniacs?
