I didn’t feel like cooking today. Cooking = pots, pans, spatulas, oil splattering all over the stove, mountains of dishes to climb in the end. So, it was time to bake the salmon. Some salt, pepper, parsley, lemon squeeze, and olive oil later, I hid it in the oven for 20 minutes at 190°C.

.
.
I cut up some carrots and dump them into the pot of rice (rice cooker).
.
.
.
Slathered the salmon with cream and dill gravy (in a sachet).
.
.
.
Steamed some broccoli and cauliflower in the rice-cooker steamer.
So while the rice was cooking, these whites and greens were steaming.
All in one pot, all at once.
.
.
And voila! The whole plate of Baked Salmon, Steamed Broccoli & Cauliflower and Chunky Carrot Rice dinner.
.
.
I sent this picture to hubby who was still at work when I was feeding the kids. He cried.
.
.
Two orders of Salmon dinner for me Monchies, siap!

Postlude:
I did not use the stove at all. The cream and dill gravy only required boiling hot water to mix. I told you I didn’t feel like cooking. Both the cooker and the cook got their break tonight. Yay!

you call THAT not cooking? membaca ni pun terasa penat. i shudder to think what is actual cooking for you 🙂
Hehehe 🙂 Ida…
Cooking to me involves fire. And I mean, visible fire. Oven punya fire tak de kuor api and does not involve mengacau, menggodek, menterbalikkan apa yang sedang dimasak tersebut. So that’s good for a krazy lazy moody lady aka pretty
lazywoman like me.Cooking also involves kuali. And kuali tak leh masuk dishwasher. So, no go.
Cooking, if results in doing vigorous dishes that makes me sweat profusely in the end, oh pogedid.
The best is if no washing required, especially poultry yang asek nak kena sabun tangan je. Kering kulit akak yang tak cukup khasiat Oil of Ulan ni tau.
So semalam tu, salmon terus masuk baking pan sebab the pieces were vacuum packed. Tak yah cuci, yay! Vegies bilas-bilas je. Carrot je kena peel sikit and chopped up. The rest was just renjis-renjis dipilis je sana sikit sini sikit. Tak banyak hal. Dan aktiviti menyediakan dinner yang santai itu telah membolehkan this pretty lazy woman duduk-duduk rehat macam orang baru bersalin kulit.
It was taking the pictures of the finished product that took me the longest. Oh me so show-offy!
Well done Aunty Enida. Just to let you know that this cat lurves…..salmon! Tasmanian, Norwegian, Alaskan, all are good. My Prince William loves them too… purrr…meow!
Ooooooh a cat with an appetite fits for a king. Uh caviar too, no? 🙂
