Edrick: What’s that Mom? Chilies?
Mommy: Yep, looks like chilies to me.
Edrick: What are you making with the chilies, Mom?
Mommy: Sambal tumis.
Edrick: Is it going to be spicy?
Mommy: Not overly spicy.
Edrick: I bet it’s gonna be 99 degrees spicy!
Mommy: 99 degrees?
Edrick: Yeah, 99 degrees. If it is 100 degrees you can’t even eat it. Because it’s too spicy, Mom!
Mommy: Oh really? Bring it on!
.
Ooo it looks like it’s gonna be spicy, lots of biji cili still intact. And the sambal tumis is all yours to eat or do you share?
Wiz, tiada istilah berkongsi dalam kamus hidupku di Pokrovsky ini when it comes to sambal. Siapa berani makan cili, hah silalah rasakan kepedasannya. And I make sambal dengan tahap kepedasan No Mercy Malaysia punya. Hehehe. I wish!
I have been making Sambal Tumis with fresh chilies for a few years now sebab kurang sikit pedasnya, hubby boleh tumpang berhuha. Plus I think it is of a little better nutritional values, those cabai segar, compared to cabai kering. And bila masuk blender, bijik dia lembut. Semua hancur, tak macam bijik cabai kering yang dah keras kejung. (Do I sound melucah to you making these statements in this paragraph, Wiz?)
