In green or grey and especially blue,
I put things away and I ran straight to you.
In silence or chaos where there was no clue,
I walked past it all, made my way to find you.
On calls or online, on DM’s, on Yahoo,
I was read, I was heard, I was glad there was you.
But when words disappeared much too soon all fell through,
No WhatsApps, no FaceTimes, no more words, no more you.
When reasons and logic unspoken, overdue,
It was time to read the signs, I so noticed the cue.
I neither begged, nor I asked, all the hopes went adieu.
We were not meant to be, we didn’t make it to “I do”.
It’s a matter of fact, true good men are too few.
I am back to square one. I’ll wait while you queue.
